Cill Dara Ministries celebrates
the Seven Sacraments within a Biblical context.

The Latin word sacramentum means "a sign of the sacred." The seven sacraments are ceremonies that point to what is sacred, significant and important for Christians.  A sacrament is "an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace." It thus has the effect of conveying sanctification on the individual participating in the sacramental action. A sacrament is the church recognizing special occasions for experiencing God's Grace.

Celtic Catholic sacramental theology expresses elements in keeping with its status as an early expression of the Church in the Catholic tradition. With respect to sacramental theology the Catholic tradition is perhaps most strongly asserted in the importance  Celtic-Catholicism places on the sacraments as a means of grace, sanctification and salvation as expressed in the church's liturgy.

Baptism - The outward sign of the inward grace of salvation.
Confirmation - At the age of accountabillity - Choosing to live as Christ
Eucharist -  We believe in the  "Real Presence" of Christ in the Eucharist
Penance and Reconciliation - Becoming right with the Lord.
Anointing of the Sick - Healing in physical, emotional and spiritual
Holy Orders - Becoming a minister or priest in our order
Matrimony  - man and woman becoming one in Christ

Please contact us for more information any of the Church Sacraments.

Can a Roman Catholic receive the sacraments from a Celtic Catholic priest? YES

from: A Catholic's Guide to the New Code of Canon Law

"When a Catholic sacred minister is unavailable and there is urgent spiritual necessity, Catholics may receive the Eucharist, penance, or anointing from sacred ministers of other catholic denominations whose Holy Orders are considered valid by the Catholic Church. This includes all Eastern Orthodox priests, as well as priests of the Old Catholic or Polish National Church." (Thomas P. Doyle, O.P., p. 44)
