 Fialte Cill Dara!

We are an Evangelical Celtic Catholic (universal) expression of the Christian faith. Founded by the Rev.  Dr. Michael and Daryl Ann Zulinke.    Mike is a Bishop in the Celtic Rite of the Church.  Cill Dara Ministries exists to promote Celtic Christianity in today's world.    Cill Dara is a part of the Celtic Christian Renewal Movement.  Just as the pagan Celtic lands were converted to Christianity, we believe that the lost and dying world around us may be won to Christ the same way that the Celtic peoples of old were.

Cill in ancient Celtic Irish means Church.  Dara means Oak.  Cill Dara is named after the ministry of St Brigid of Kildare. Originally, around 470 she founded Kildare Abbey, a double monastery, for nuns and monks, on the plains of Cill-Dara, "the church of the oak", her cell being made under a large oak tree. As Abbess of this foundation, she wielded considerable power. Legends surround her, even her blessing as Abbess by Saint Mel has a story attached to it. According to the legend, as  the elderly bishop was blessing her during the ceremony,  he inadvertently read the rite of consecration of a bishop and this could not be rescinded, under any circumstances. Brigid and her successor Abbesses at Kildare had an administrative authority equal to that of a Bishop.

Cill Dara is a part of the "...One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church". Some people think that Church of Rome the is the only Catholic Church.  The truth is that the Roman Church is just one part of the Catholic Church, There are many Catholic Bodies, and this includes Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Old Catholic, Celtic Catholic, Independent Catholic and Anglican Bodies. Cill Dara being a Celtic Catholic Ministry is just one small part  of the many streams of the Catholic faith. All these bodies have Apostolic Succession, the three orders of ministry of deacon, priest and bishop, and the Eucharist as our main part of our worship, and sacramental forms of ministering to their people, which we do for our people. But we take it one step further that any person that is baptized in the Triune Formula and Confess Christ Jesus has Lord and Savior is part of the Catholic (which means Universal) Christian Church.

The Church is one because it is one with its founder, Jesus Christ and, in His Mystical Body, is one with all believers.  The Church is holy because Christ is Holy and sanctifies the Church by His continuing Presence in the Sacraments, His Word and in the Church.  The Church is Catholic both because, as a member of Christ's mystical body, it is universal; and because it consciously links itself to the traditions and practices of the historic Church.

Remembering Rich Mullins

We first met Rich Mullins back in 1990 when we were working

for the Gold Coast Concert Series.

Rich helped shape our view of  Christianity.

He challenged us to see past our own

pre-conceived notions of Christianity and see Jesus

 in a truly wonderful way.

This video is of Rich telling people about true spitituallity.

"We were given the Scriptures to humble us into realizing that God is right,

and the rest of us are just guessing." — Rich Mullins

The single greatest cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who  acknowledge Jesus with their lips, then walk out the door, and deny Him by  their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable”
